-I think its aimed at teenagers and family because of the timing it plays on BBC normally older kids stay up around that time

Personal Identity: They are teenagers in the show so many kids would relate to it for example : Will and lyra

Diversion (Escapism):  The show is dramatic and exciting to watch like when the chase scene between the kids

Vicarious pleasure: as both lyra and will are from different worlds we can know how their lives are different .

 they thought that it wasn't as great as season one and that they could've done better "It looks great, it's robustly made, and there are great actors everywhere, occupying well-built universes. "But it doesn't inspire as much wonder as it ought to."

Some loved it because the Tv show comes from a book and so people who read a lot will want to the show . Some wouldn't like it because of the religious institution and the perceived anti- Christian theme that wont people weren't fond of.

1) How are the technical conventions different between 1963 Doctor Who and 2020 His Dark Materials (e.g. camerawork, editing, sound and mise-en-scene)?

The camerawork is more clean and smooth in His dark materiel then Doctor who . The editing is much more advanced in His dark materials as well . 

2) What similarities and differences are there between Doctor Who and His Dark Materials in terms of genre and narrative?

They are both sci-fi type of series but His dark Materials is more adventurous and fantasy. 

3) How are representations of people, places and groups similar or different in the two shows?

His Dark material is much more diverse then Doctor who because mostly in the 1900s Tv shows only white people were in it and there wasn't many coloured people.

A medium close up is from your head to your shoulders and it affects the audience by picking up gestures and facial expressions while maintaining a sense of the background .   - The second camera shot is close up .
